All Peter Norberg Consulting, Inc. stepper motor control products carry a 15 day satisfaction guarantee*1 as well as a 30 day manufacturer's warranty*2.
Always contact the factory first to verify that the given guarantee or warranty applies and to obtain the RMA number. We may elect to not accept returns that have not been authorized by us; any unauthorized returns may be treated as unwarranted repair requests.
*1 The 15 day satisfaction guarantee states that if you purchased the product directly from us for delivery in the US, then for the first 15 days after the original shipment date of your order, if for any reason you are not satisfied with the purchase and you have not damaged the product through neglect or misuse, then you may contact Customer Support (at firstname.lastname@example.org ) to obtain a return authorization number and shipping instructions. Once the product has been returned to us and has been ascertained to be complete (including the original product box, with the unit in its original packing materials) and undamaged, your purchase price, less shipping and handling, will be refunded to you. We do not refund any shipping costs, and we may have to charge you extra if your original real shipment costs were greater than our invoiced amount. Note that if the product is defective, you may either request a refund or an exchange-or-repair-based replacement (per our 30 day warranty). Always contact the factory first to verify that the satisfaction guarantee applies and to obtain the RMA number. We cannot guarantee that we will accept returns that have not been authorized by us. This guarantee is not available with volume or special order purchases or for sales or shipments outside of the US, and is limited to one refund on one product per customer.
If you return a unit for a refund without obtaining an RMA first, there will be a minimum 15% restocking charge for any returned unit, in addition to any other costs as noted above.
No refunds will ever be given after 15 days from the original order date.
*2 The 30 day manufacturer's warranty states that, for factory assembled boards, if the product fails in normal use (with no "client-induced failure" and no customer changes or modifications to the board) within the first 30 days of ownership, then we will repair or replace it (at our option) at no charge to you except for your cost of shipping it to us. Foreign orders must pay shipping, handling, and any import or export related expenses for both directions of the shipment. For most USA orders, there are no shipping charges for the shipment of the repaired product to the customer on warranted product repairs if ground shipping is selected. Please contact Customer Support to obtain a return authorization number and shipping instructions, and to determine if this warranty applies to your case. Always contact the factory first to verify that the warranty applies and to obtain the RMA number. We cannot accept returns that have not been authorized by us.
Our general service rules for out-of-date boards and for client-induced failure (for example, you tried to drive a 4 amp motor with a 1 amp board, you used a single 30 volt power supply instead of a split service, or you do not adequately cool a board) normally places a cap on the maximum cost of repair of the board. Contact Customer Support for the correct maximum cost of repair for your particular board, if this is needed, and to obtain a return authorization number and shipping instructions. We cannot accept returns that have not been authorized by us. Please note that physically destroyed boards (i.e., you snapped it in half, or a trace burned through) cannot be repaired. We never warrant boards that have been modified or repaired by you in any way, or boards that show any signs of abuse (such as metal filings anywhere on the board, any evidence of liquid contamination, and so on). We may elect to not attempt repairs on boards that have any evidence of any form of contamination, since we cannot guarantee that we can remove all of that contamination.
Refund, replacement, and repair are your only remedies under our warranty.
Your only remedy under our warranty is the above mentioned refund (15 day satisfaction guarantee) or the replacement or repair (30 day warranty) of your eligible unit as described above. Neither this warranty nor any other warranty, express or implied, including, but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, shall extend beyond the 30 day warranty period. Under no circumstances shall Peter Norberg Consulting, Inc. be liable for any special incidental, indirect or punitive damages or for any consequential damages, even if Peter Norberg Consulting knows or is informed that such damages are possible.
Important: Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above exclusion or limitation may not apply to you.
No reseller is authorized to modify the terms of this warranty. Any additional warranty offered by a reseller is the sole responsibility of that reseller.
LIFE SUPPORT POLICY
Due to the components used in the products (such as National Semiconductor Corporation, and others), Peter Norberg Consulting, Inc.'s products are not authorized for use in life support devices or systems, or in devices which can cause any form of personal injury if a failure occurred.
Note that National Semiconductor states "Life support devices or systems are devices which (a) are intended for surgical implant within the body, or (b) support or sustain life, and in whose failure to perform when properly used in accordance with instructions or use provided in the labeling, can be reasonably expected to result in a significant injury to the user".
