RS422ToTTL Converter

The RS422ToTTL converter board is a tiny 1.25" by 1.5" board that allows TTL-Serial devices (such as our BC4D15 stepper motor controller board) to communicate with each other using RS422 communications.  Each board supports two completely independent channels of bidirectional communication, thus simplifying 'daisy chain' operation using our BC2D15 and BC4D15 motor controller boards.  It is available in two models; one uses screw terminal connectors while the other uses a MTA-100 connectors.

The board is designed such that you can use #4 mounting posts to mount it in your system.

The board must be powered by a regulated supply; either 5 volts or 6.5 to 15 may be used; if you provide 5 volts, you connect the power and ground to the +5/GND power inputs.  If you provide 6.5 to 15 volts, then you connect your power to the VC/GND power inputs.

Our complete manual describing the product is available here.

The board supports communication rates of up to 10 megabaud; however, when used with our stepper motor controllers, you normally operate at 9600 baud (due to the design specifications of those products).  If the board is connected to some other TTL-Serial compatible device, its full communication rate may be available, depending on the limitations of the device to which it is being connected and upon your cabling.

Please note that you need to provide your own communications cable and power supply.
